Janet & Paul’s Story
After many years of putting others first, Janet and Paul’s home slowly became unsafe. When a mutual friend introduced them to Kingdoms Crew, the original hope was to make a few necessary updates. However, a full evaluation revealed that the foundation of the home was unstable and no longer safe to live in.
Though the situation was more serious than expected, Kingdoms Crew’s mission remained the same—to ensure Janet and Paul had a home where they could live independently, safely, and with dignity. A small, one-level home was located and minimally modified to meet their needs, including an accessible bathroom and a spacious laundry area.
Kingdoms Crew also walked alongside Janet and Paul through the transition—helping them downsize, connect with reliable in-home support, enroll in meal services, and regain control of their finances. With the support of a generous gift from the Butler Foundation, renovations were completed, a front porch was built, the move was made possible, and their former home was safely demolished in preparation for sale.
Reflecting one year later, Janet shared, “Those were dark days. Looking back, they saved our lives.” Paul added, “I was raised to believe that family helps family, and Kingdoms Crew has become part of our family.” After years of caring for others, it was an honor to care for Janet and Paul.
